Welcome to the Lane County Darfur Coalition...

There’s a New Hope for Darfur
From our friends at savedarfur.org

Barack Obama has been a champion of Darfur in the Senate, and pledged “unstinting resolve” to stop the violence and protect the people of Darfur.

It's our job to make sure he keeps that promise. Please join thousands of others and send a postcard to the next president, adding your voice to the call for Day One leadership on Darfur.

War crimes fugitive Radovan Karadzic arrested in Serbia

War crimes fugitive Radovan Karadzic was arrested July 21, 2008. Read the story and watch the video in which people can be seen dancing in the streets here: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/europe/article4375437.ece

Like Señor Moreno-Ocampo said, one day it will be Al-Bashir sitting in the dock at the Hague. This is a sad day, a bittersweet day when we remember our sisters and brothers who died in Srebrenica and Sarajevo. It is also a proud day filled with hope for justice: justice to end the genocide in Darfur and, one day, to prevent war crimes before they occur. May we continue together, across nations and all other barriers, toward international peace.

"Our failure to speak out to end the on-going genocide in Darfur would place us on the wrong side of history."
